William Dunlop BA (Hons), PGCE, FRSA

William Dunlop was educated at Canford School and the University of Liverpool, where he read English Language and Literature. After a period of military service he joined Kingston Grammar School as a trainee teacher, gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Buckingham (where his tutor was the former Chief Inspector of Schools, Sir Chris Woodhead). He quickly rose to become Head of Year 7 before becoming Head at Clayesmore Prep School. Under his leadership the school developed unique systems of attitude-based learning and staff professional development, and was shortlisted as Independent Prep School of the Year.

An innovative and forward-thinking educator with a global approach, he is passionate about developing young people’s ability to shape an uncertain future. He is a Fellow of the RSA, a governor at a British independent school, and a member of the Chartered College of Teaching, IAPS and the British Dyslexia Association.
